DENIS ROMANOVSKI by Denis Romanovski The event is treated like multi-vectored communication, the interpretations of which are ambiguous. The truth of the event is that every participant and spectator sees and relates to it differently. In that case, does the event possess any substance or body at all? During the performance, it was important to define and underline the varying reactions of the audience. Their interaction in itself was the event of the performance. The performer advances by jumping onto toy cubes which he spits out of his mouth. Then he throws various prickly and sharp objects onto the floor. He asks three spectators to drink or blow bubbles through clear plastic straws stuck into bottles of wine, vodka, and drinking water. Other members of the audience are asked to blow up one rubber balloon together. After this, the performer takes his leave, providing freedom for the interaction to develop further. A struggle ensues among those who inflated the balloon, which ends in a victory for those in favour of bursting it.
