IRMA OPTIMIST

NON-LINEAR BODY

by Viktor Petrov
The performer is clad in the clothes and warpaint of an Amazon archer. Arrows
fly into the transparent material of abstract logic, thus creating starting
points. So begins a lesson in mathematics. A candidate is fished from the crowd
using a black collar. He must answer simple questions throughout a demonstration
of Pythagoras' theorem which she draws onto the polythene. The lesson takes
place behind a thin, synthetic net woven by the teacher. The bewildered pupil
gradually begins to recall some basic geometry and answer the questions he is
posed. Like a fly, he falls into the trap woven by the libido of the stern yet
sexy schoolmistress. She embraces him and, rotating, their bodies are bound
up tightly in the synthetic netting. The movement is reminiscent of dance. Following
this, both are freed by a knife and scissors, and the same collar is placed
around the liberator's neck. The symbols of arrows, extending telescopic fishing
rods, and inflated condoms are inseminated with a large quantity of life-giving
cream, spreading the signs of life, success, and rapture...
