PARALLEL PARTY

On a specially-constructed podium, the performer squeezes juice from bunches
of grapes into a clear glass goblet of water. Plaster is then sprinkled into
this mixture until it acquires a thick consistency. On the backdrop of a huge
mirror, the mixture is then applied and spread over his face. In parallel, a
tape recorder emits blank cassette white noise at high volume. The artist moves
along the mirror which reflects the audience, then lights a candle mounted in
a candlestick. As he leaves, he takes it with him, tearing the black cloth off
the podium at the same time
"A continuation of my performance was the children’s performance "Kinder-Surprise"
by Katya Shagoyko and Zhenya Trukhan. They create a space around themselves
with
dark silhouettes filled with emptiness (balloons). This is the field for some
kind of
game... Accompanied by the sound of mumbling, they pop the balloons inside these
figures, then begin dancing with the audience",
