OSKAR DAWICKI
Kraków, Poland
Untitled

by Viktor Petrov
The style of an old hall. Dressed in a blue concert jacket, the artist opens
the window, thus increasing the space. Recorded applause can be heard. A multiplicity
of gestures in one gesture. The permanent rhythm of the gesture is a hand held
over the eyes. A weight is tied to the hand using a bandage. The fascination
of incessant action. In the silence, the performer walks up to everyone present,
lifting an old clock-spring to each spectator's ear and striking it lightly.
Everyone has the opportunity to hear this subtle, melodic sound. At the start
of the event, the audience is riveted by the performer's gesture, which is then
brought round to each spectator individually as a sonic signal. The gesture
becomes a sound. End of performance.
